DSS Launches DSS Robotics, Adds RaaS to Its Offerings
DSS, Inc. debuts DSS Robotics, a new unit offering Robotics-as-a-Service alongside consulting, integration and deployment for enterprise automation.
DSS, Inc. (NYSE American: DSS) has launched a new business unit called DSS Robotics, aimed at bringing AI-powered automation and intelligent robotics solutions to enterprise customers, the company announced.
According to the announcement, DSS Robotics will offer a range of services including strategic consulting, systems integration, deployment, lifecycle support, and notably, Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) — a model that allows businesses to access robotics technology without outright ownership. The company said it plans to partner with technology providers to match robotics and AI solutions to specific customer operating environments.
"DSS Robotics is a natural extension of our enterprise technology capabilities, with a focus on applying automation to real operational needs and delivering measurable value for customers," said Jason Grady, Chief Executive Officer of DSS, Inc.
As part of the initiative, DSS Robotics intends to establish an AI and Robotics Innovation Center at DSS Premier Packaging's manufacturing facility in Rochester, New York. The site is described as serving a dual purpose: functioning as a live operational deployment location while also acting as a demonstration facility where customers can evaluate automation applications across manufacturing, logistics and commercial operations.
Grady framed the RaaS and service-based approach as central to the unit's philosophy, stating the goal is not simply placing robots in facilities but helping organizations pinpoint where automation delivers real operational value. He added that the Rochester center would give the company a practical setting to test and refine these applications alongside customers and technology partners.
DSS said the new robotics business is expected to complement its existing enterprise technology work, potentially creating opportunities tied to systems integration and recurring service relationships as commercial activity develops. The company indicated that further details about DSS Robotics, including its technology partners and specific commercial initiatives, would be announced as the business progresses.
